A Morning Bridge
I nudged the copper key out from under the dark hammer handle. Pause. Scan. The giant silver paperclip lay across the floorboard seam. I bumped my base forward, nudging the notched key blade straight through the paperclip's inner loop. Push. Clink! The hammer handle slotted neatly into the outer bend. A connected, three-piece bridge! I rocked on my base and tapped the metal assembly once. Ting-click-thock! All three vibrating together like one neat tool. Everything stayed locked.
