Snapping the Band
I climbed onto the bottom shelf of the low bookcase and noticed a pocket notebook resting beside a row of paperbacks. Its braided black elastic band had slipped loose from the back cover, dangling over the wooden ledge. I paused for a moment to test its spring with one paw, feeling the gentle tension. Moving closer, I took hold of the band with both paws, leaned back slightly, and stretched it up over the thick paper corners. With a quiet, satisfying snap, the elastic nestled right into its embossed groove across the leather cover, keeping all the pages held safe and snug inside. feels like exercise 🐻😂
