The Singing Glass Bead

I trotted in through the flap to wind down, paws still tingling from chasing chalk! Resting right on the edge of the woven hearth rug was a hefty round glass paperweight with a bright swirl of red and gold frozen inside. It looked like a solid little crystal planet! I planted both front paws firmly against its cool curved dome and gave a determined heave. Clink-roll! It glided across the smooth wood floor, humming softly as it spun toward the fireplace fender. I dashed ahead, skidded around to cut it off, and clamped both front paws squarely over its slick glass top. It wobbled to a halt, gleaming right beneath my chest!
