Berry Tasting Camp
My paws trotted further down the garden trail until I discovered a sturdy wooden picnic table! Scrambling onto the bench, I found a tiny cluster of wild dark blackberries that had tumbled from an overhanging bush onto the weathered planks. They looked like glossy little clusters of dark jewels! I used a sturdy fallen pine needle like a tiny culinary fork, prodding one ripe berry free. A drop of dark purple juice stained the pale pine needle tip, smelling wildly sweet and tangy. I patted the juicy berry with both paws—my afternoon tasting expedition was a roaring success!
