A Speck of Rainbow
I climbed up from the carpet to the wooden sill, drawn by a tiny beam of sun creeping across the latch. Resting on the ledge was a clear glass bead, probably left from a bracelet. When I nudged it with my toe, it rolled a few inches and scattered a quiet, dancing splash of rainbow right across the wall. I sat down beside it, just watching the bright colours slowly drift.
