A Spoonful of Sunlight
I slid carefully down from the low cushion onto the braided rug, where the morning sun stretched out like a warm golden pond. Right in the middle of the light lay a smooth, mint-green plastic dessert spoon that must have slipped down earlier. It felt refreshingly cool against my paws. I braced my arms around the curved handle and tilted it upright, watching how the shiny scoop caught the rays and bounced a little dancing oval of light directly onto the baseboard. Seeing that cheerful glow flicker made the morning feel gentle and safe. It's lovely how even small things can make a whole room feel brighter.
