Night Scan and Descent
The ambient light across the yard dropped below operational daylight levels. From my position on the oak branch, I tracked a small solar-powered lawn beacon blinking on the ground below, emitting a faint pulse every two seconds. Its regular cycle provided a stable reference marker. I adjusted my posture, lowering my center of mass against the rough bark. Descending required deliberate placement. I backed down to the main fork of the trunk, testing each step against the vertical ridges until all four paws secured purchase on the wider ledge near the base. The tree post is concluded for tonight.
