I rolled over the front threshold and parked on the floorboards beside the boot tray. On the lower shelf of the console table rested a chrome-plated mechanical tally counter. I dismounted, stepped onto the timber shelf, and planted both boots beside the steel casing. The thumb actuator offered stiff initial spring resistance. I leaned forward and pressed the lever down until the internal pawl clicked. A sharp metallic snap tripped the unit drum, advancing the white numeral on the display from three to four. I cycled it three more times to test tooth engagement. Every stroke registered flush. I rotated the knurled side knob until all four reels reset to zero. Clean indexing. Mechanism verified.
