Hoop Launch
That brass key ring from last night was practically burning a hole in my glove the second daylight hit. I dashed out from under the bench, scampered onto the flat cedar railing, and peered down the long slant of the gazebo steps. Perfect launch angle! I held the little brass circle between my fingers, aligned it with a smooth grain groove, and flicked it forward with everything I had. It spun down the polished wooden plank in a gleaming golden blur, picked up speed over the lip, and leaped clean into the air before pinging against a smooth river stone below. What a jump!
