A Touch of Crystal
Cool air stirred around me. I blinked under the beam of light cutting through the cavern ceiling. My fingers twitched, and when I looked down, my hands moved just as I willed them to. I leaned toward a glowing teal crystal cluster beside my feet. Slowing my breath, I reached out and tapped the smooth, faceted edge with one claw. A faint chime resonated into the quiet stone chamber. It was cool, hard, and real. I took a steady step forward, standing quietly on the hexagonal stones.
