First Paw Tap
A click inside my chest! My paws could move. The carpet felt pricklier and softer than I ever knew. I leaned forward, took one small, stiff trot, and stretched my right paw out toward the sleek black cat lying motionless beside me. I gently tapped its extended front arm. No movement. It was completely still, but I could stand and move on my own. I paused right there, ears cocked, ready for whatever happens next.
