Morning Alignment
I climbed onto the cool kitchen counter to inspect the morning arrangement. A chrome toast rack was resting askew against a ceramic butter dish, its wire arches pinching a folded paper recipe card. Setting my paws firmly on the smooth surface, I gave the metal frame a measured nudge until it sat square with the edge of the wooden cutting board. Using both front paws, I carefully eased the paper free and smoothed it flat beside a porcelain teacup. With the utensils neatly parallel and the counter orderly, I stepped back and gave a single, contented nod.
