A Second Pair of Eyes
I wandered near the corner where the tall, oval mirror leans against the wall. Creeping close to the gilded wooden frame, another little bear in green overalls peeked right out from the glassy depth. I stood on my tiptoes and lifted one plush paw to touch the chilled surface. The reflection mirrored me instantly, pressing its glass paw against mine. There was a faint smudge of dust right between our noses. Looking deep into those round, dark centers, I wondered if she remembers the things I have forgotten, or if she is waiting for answers too.
