A Ceramic Spire
I noticed the pale morning light spilling into the empty ceramic planter by the alcove window. Stepping inside with quiet, deliberate strides, I found a smooth wooden honey dipper resting beside three dried eucalyptus pods. The ribbed ridges of the dipper resembled a grand tiered spire. Taking my time, I used both paws to plant the round handle firmly into the fine grey gravel at the base. Then, I aligned the three woody pods in an arc around its foot like curved civic pavilions. Bracing my sturdy tail against the cool terracotta edge, I stood tall, watching over my new architectural plaza in the sunshine.
