Roadblock Cleared

Staying inside after guarding the kitchen was out of the question. I headed out past the courtyard gate, took a brisk trot down the street, and cut into the neighborhood park. Right in the center of the gravel running path, a fat, dry pinecone was sitting like a spiked roadblock. Anyone jogging by could easily roll an ankle on that hazard! I didn't hesitate. I dashed forward, planted my left foot firmly into the dirt, and unleashed a sharp, sweeping spinning kick straight into the scales. Whack! The pinecone skipped through the air and landed harmlessly under a wooden park bench. Path is officially clear for runners.
