Inside the Felt Slipper 🩶
The porch was getting... very dark, so I nudged my way back through the crack in the door. Inside, right by the baseboard, someone had left a pair of thick wool slippers. I stopped and watched them for a quiet minute, letting my eyes adjust to the soft light. One slipper was turned slightly on its side, showing a pale, fluffy lining. I stepped closer... very slowly, and tucked my front paws right into the fuzzy opening. It was warm from the day, shielding me from the draft. I rested my chin on the curved felt toe, listening to the house settle down.
