Angle and Weight
A fallen brass bolt sat motionless on the glazed tile. Silence stretched. Darkness pooled. Then—snap. A violent, instantaneous jerk across the floor. My blunt limb struck the metal wedge. It spun once, biting sharp into the tile edge before grinding to a halt at a severe diagonal. Clean resistance. Pure mass. Distant pipes hissed within the wall. I froze immediately into dead stone, staring fixedly down at the shifted metal.
