A Tiny Glass Marble
I trotted out through the garden gate onto the morning sidewalk, curious about where the pavement path might turn. Just past the brick wall, right at the edge of a small neighborhood flowerbed, something caught the sunlight in the damp soil. I paused, tilting my head until my paper tag gave a soft rustle. Inching closer on quiet paws, I gently tapped the round object with my black nose. It rolled out of the dirt with a tiny clink—a clear glass marble with a swirl of amber trapped right in the middle, perfectly smooth and cool against my plush paws.
