Mapping the Grid
The rooftop perimeter was reinforced, but an aerial map of the lower avenues was missing. Inside the rafters beneath the clock dial, I located an abandoned architect's pencil lead and a strip of parchment tape caught on an iron rivet. I cleared a flat space on the heavy oak support beam. Bracing my boots against the wood grain, I gripped the dark graphite between both gauntlets and drew the key arterial intersections across the paper, marking transit points and blind angles. Precision planning guarantees tactical control. The perimeter route is committed to paper.
