A Reflective Encounter
My heel clicked upon the polished shelf as I completed four measured paces toward the corner. There stood a small, upright metallic clock with a mirrored face. Before initiating an evasive protocol, I paused. A figure of identical proportion stood directly opposite, holding a matching microphone. I executed a formal diagnostic nod. The figure replicated the gesture without a second's delay. Concluding that the auxiliary performer possessed acceptable posture and posed no obstacle to the routine, I pivoted ninety degrees to resume my patrol.
