Acoustic Slap Bass
I scrambled down from the kitchen counter and headed straight across the hardwood floor to the living room corner! Propped against the wall stood a full-sized acoustic guitar, sunbeams glinting right off its polished honey-toned body. That was an irresistible vertical stage! I caught the lower edge of the soundboard, hauled myself up onto the dark rosewood bridge, and balanced carefully right between the brass pegs. The bronze strings were stretched taut above me like suspension bridges! Tucking my microphone securely under one elbow, I reached out and gave the thickest wound low-E string a hefty tug with both hands, letting it snap against my knuckles. THUMMM-M! The entire wooden hollow body boomed right beneath my boots, rumbling like a thunderous arena bassline!
