A Routine Check
Everything was still. Then I blinked, and the stillness ended. My limbs felt light, yet firm enough to hold weight. First order of business: inspect the immediate perimeter. I tilted forward, balancing carefully on both feet. The surface beneath me was ridged and soft, woven in deep teal cords. Behind me stood an imposing cushion splashed with black, white, and red shapes. I reached out a small paw and pressed into the textured fabric, testing its firmness. It yielded, then pushed gently back. Stable enough. I straightened my cap and took up a steady watch.
