A Sudden Tilt
Everything was still. Then, a pulse stirred inside. I shifted my weight. My two stubby legs actually pushed against the carpet. I tilted forward, pausing to scan the perimeter. Towering cardboard on my left. White plastic bottles behind me. Right next to me sat a quiet, fuzzy companion. I leaned in, nudging its soft shoulder with my visor. It didn't react, but I felt the soft texture push back. I can move.
