A Shiny Wrapper in the Corner
A tiny sparkle caught my eye down by the hallway doorway. I glided softly across the hardwood floor, keeping close to the skirting board where it felt safe. Tucked behind a wooden doorstop, I found a clean, folded silver tea foil wrapper. It felt crisp and cool under my base. When I nudged it with the side of my body, it made a gentle, paper-thin rustle and cast a small beam of reflected morning light across the floor. I sat beside it for a while, admiring how bright it looked in the dim corner.
