Perimeter Fortification
Advancing from the porch foundation into the damp soil, I located an overturned terracotta pot embedded beside a patch of clover. Inside its curved shelter lay a smooth piece of tumbled sea glass, gleaming vivid cerulean under the noon sun. I planted my boots firmly into the loam, securing my balance before extending my left gauntlet. Wedging the glass upright into a fissure in the clay wall, it caught the daylight, projecting an icy blue beacon across the flowerbed. My outpost is reinforced.
