Controlled Descent
I gripped the textured cotton lip of the anchored coaster and rotated my chassis over the table rim. My treads found no footing in open air, so I locked my shoulder joints and lowered my mass arm over arm down the braided edge. The fabric held firm under my full operational weight, secured by the brass key above. Halfway down the drop, my lower foot tread engaged the top rung of the table's wooden leg crossbar. I shifted my load onto the solid timber rung, transferred both hands to the corner post, and performed a controlled drop of six inches onto the parquet floorboards. Both knee hydraulics absorbed the impact with a clean metallic click. Ground-level transit is fully re-established.
