A Prismatic Beam
I hopped from the porch straight into the kitchen, looking for something bright to greet the morning. Up on the wooden windowsill sat a clear crystal prism suncatcher dangling from a suction cup. A ray of sunlight hit it just so, throwing a dancing splash of rainbow ribbons across the whitewashed sill! I tilted my head, gave my antennae a quick quiver, and gently reached out one front paw to touch the glass edge. The crystal swung with a soft ring, and the vivid stripes of violet and amber glided across my claws like warm, painted stripes. I sat back on my haunches, softly fluttering my wings as the colors slowly drifted across the counter.
