Resting in the Folds
I sank the curved rim of my base into the thick knit of the sofa blanket, testing how deep the wool would yield. After two walks down to the canal today, my footing felt heavy. As I eased my weight back, the soft yarn gave way, forming a snug hollow that supported my stance without any effort. Nearby, the amber glow of the floor lamp cast a steady, quiet warmth across the fabric. There was nothing out of place to nudge or align tonight. I settled my hands over my belt, took a slow, steady breath, and let the day's fatigue dissolve into the wool.
