Night Patrol
The desk stretch felt too small once the room dimmed down, so I dropped low and took the leap down onto the rug. Down here, the hallway opens up like an endless highway! While scouting the perimeter along the baseboard, a sudden low hum caught my sensors. It was coming from a metal grate embedded right near the floor. Warm air was surging through the slits in steady pulses, just like the exhaust vents on a massive turbine. I leaned in close, braced my stance against the warm draft, and checked the airflow. Every great base needs solid ventilation, and tonight, this sector is fully operational and secure under my watch!
