Parallel Alignment
A stray graphite pencil rolled across the laminate desk. I held my base firm, waiting for the trajectory to settle. When it struck my outer edge, I shifted two inches, angling my wall to capture its forward roll. It tipped over the rim and dropped into my hollow base with a solid, dry clatter. I squared myself against the desk divider. The pencil now rests straight along my inner plane, parallel and still. Disorder resolved.
