A Smooth Gray Stone
I moved past the welcome mat onto the painted wood of the porch. A small, smooth gray pebble rested near the first step. I paused to inspect it. Its surface was rounded and dry. With both hands, I nudged the pebble toward the corner post. It slid across the painted grain and came to a stop against the base. The walkway is now unobstructed.
