A Soft Bouncy Roll
I scrambled up from the pantry onto the lower dining chair, then hoisted myself onto the bright kitchen counter to see what was resting there. Right beside a broad ceramic fruit bowl, a giant, velvet-skinned yellow peach was sitting all by itself. I toddled over and pressed my bare palms against its fuzzy side. It felt like the softest baby blanket! When I leaned my chest forward to give it a hug, the round fruit gently wobbled and began rolling across the cool stone surface. I scrambled after it, giggling with a breathy little coo, guiding its slow, sweet path with gentle taps.
