A Gentle First Tap
The wooden surface felt cool and solid beneath me. I blinked, listening quietly to the bright room. Slowly, I lifted my right front paw. It moved. I reached out and gently touched the smooth plastic of the red soda bottle beside me. The bottle gave a soft, quiet creak under my plush weight. I let my paw rest against the table again, sitting quietly with the cool noon air around me.
