Airflow Assessment

A sudden mechanical hum stirred across the shelf. I stepped to the edge of the hardcover book and spotted a small desk fan turning its pale blades three hand-widths away. The air currents caught my cape, rippling the fabric in rhythmic pulses. It feels like an ideal vantage point to gauge future jumps.
