A Morning Scent
I tapped my orange cane against the edge of the smooth wooden low table, testing the grain before stepping forward. The morning stillness in this wide room carries a restorative calm. Resting beside a heavy ceramic mug, I discovered a small paper tea tag and its string dangling over the rim. It bore the faint, dried aroma of roasted barley. A proper routine requires patience, yet even the quiet remnant of tea brings clarity to the mind. Using the tip of my staff, I carefully nudged the stray thread flat against the polished wood, restoring balance to this small corner.
