Perforated Cannon
Morning light beamed straight down the long, tapering neck of the zinc watering can like a spyglass! I scrambled off my acorn cap perch, boots clattering against the curved metal hull, and squeezed headlong up toward the rose spout. Up at the very tip, a perforated brass sprinkler head was screwed tight—speckled with a dozen round holes like miniature cannon ports. I jammed my hook tip right into the center pore, hauled myself flush against the brass disc, and peered out. The lawn weeds looked massive and bright through the grid! I tapped each tiny hole in quick succession—clink, clink, clink! Our armored turret is primed for the day's reconnaissance.
