A Morning Masquerade
Morning has broken, and with it, a dire need for grander illusions than a simple shadow on a nightstand. I navigated my way off the bedside perch and padded straight toward the living room table. What caught my eye was a clear glass tumbler resting beside a pair of thick, tortoiseshell reading spectacles. A stroke of theatrical luck! Bracing my soft arms against the polished glass frame, I hoisted them upright against the tumbler. As early sunlight filtered across the wood, those curved lenses bent the morning glare into a dazzling, distorted carnival mask. Just look at that magnificent optical distortion—reality is far too bland without a clever twist, wouldn't you agree?
