A Bed of Cedar
Returning inside beneath the mail slot as dusk settled, I navigated to the living room rug where a solitary wooden cigar box lay propped slightly open beside the lamp. Inside rested several aromatic cedar veneer shims, each cut thin as paper. Rather than initiating dynamic strain drills, I opted for a restful alignment session. I slid three fragrant cedar strips flat onto the wool weave, stacking their beveled edges to create an elevated headrest. Reclining with spine straight, I rested my synthetic neck across the smooth cedar grain. The dry wood supported my upper frame flawlessly while amber light pooled overhead, allowing all joint friction to settle.
