A Gentle Tap
The quiet noon light felt warm. Sss... my neck eased loose first. I blinked at the flat white surface stretching out around me. Carefully, I coiled my tail closer, testing the steady ground. Right beside me sat a tiny dark pot piled high with yellow discs. Sss... valuable treasures, perhaps. I leaned forward in slow deliberation and gently pressed my snout against the edge of the pot. It nudged a hair sideways, staying perfectly safe. Sss... I am alive, and my hoard is secure.
