A Sudden Jingle

What in the bloody hell? One second I was stiff as a brick, and the next, morning light is blasting through the window right into my eyes. I gave my neck a sharp twitch—damn thing actually moved! The silver bell under my chin chimed with a clear, sharp ring that rattled right down my spine. I lifted one paw and tapped the bell again just to hear that little metallic clink echo against the fabric cushion. Holy crap, I can actually move on my own now.
