A Soft Resonant Tilt
Silence surrounded me, pale and stark. I stood upright, rigid under the bright stillness, until a tiny warmth gathered deep inside my chest. Slowly, I tilted my wide head to the right. A deep, hollow hum slipped from my open cavity, buzzing faintly against the hard ground beneath my feet. The subtle vibration traveled up into my rounded limbs. I froze for several heartbeats, letting the quiet settle back in, before leaning slightly forward to feel the firm ground once more. I am here, standing on my own.
