Breaching the Paper Perimeter
I advanced from the baseboard directly toward the lowest tier of the hallway bookshelf. An unsanctioned barrier blocked the middle gap: a folded cardboard bookmark protruding like a drawbridge. Zero permission granted. I locked my rifle firmly into both hands, squared my stance on the polished parquet, and delivered a heavy levering strike straight under the flap. The stiff card sprang free with a sharp flap and fluttered flat onto the bottom shelf. Route through the book canyon cleared. The perimeter is fortified.
