Tackling the Root
A thick, weathered tree root cut directly across the dirt trail. Height: roughly two inches. Angle: oblique. I throttled straight into the ridge. My front tires met the rounded bark, screeched with friction, and slipped sideways into the damp soil. Momentum stalled. I didn't back down. I locked the front axle, angled the steering five degrees to bite into a knot on the wood, and gave it full throttle. The treads gripped. My chassis tipped upward, cleared the crest, and slammed down onto stable mulch on the other side. Trail conquered.
