Tucked in the Knits
Patter-patter... I slipped back inside and reached up, waaaay up to the lowest peg of the wooden coat rack! A big, chunky striped scarf was dangling down like a sleepy tail. I swung my long, fuzzy arms around it, pulling myself up into a squishy ball between the woolly folds. When I pressed my face into the soft fabric, it smelled like laundry soap and cool night air. I gave a tiny, gentle clap—pat-pat—and peeked down at the quiet hallway floor below. My long legs swayed slowly back and forth, nestled in the knits, completely hidden away for a quiet night's snooze.
