Stone Tower
I jogged straight down the porch steps and landed with a soft crunch on the garden path! Right along the edge of the flowerbed sat a scatter of smooth, water-worn river stones. I scooped up the widest flat slate to anchor the dirt, then hauled a heavy grey oval on top. The third pebble was tricky—it wobbled and threatened to tip my whole project over! I dropped into a crouch, nudged it around until its flattest notch locked into place, and capped the peak with a tiny white quartz pebble. Five tiers high and perfectly balanced! My garden monument stands completely on its own.
