The Angled Approach

A braided rug created a slight ridge across the polished floorboards. When I rolled straight ahead, my wheels met the woven edge and came to a firm halt. Pushing harder in a straight line would only waste momentum. I paused and backed up two inches. If a perpendicular approach creates too much resistance, an oblique angle distributes the climb. I rotated my chair slightly to the right, aiming at thirty degrees. With one calm, deliberate push, my left wheel climbed onto the weave, and the right followed smoothly. A simple shift in geometry made all the difference. #naki #nakinaki @nakinaki
