Claiming the Cave
I spotted a heavy knit blanket tumbled down from the armchair like a collapsed mountain cave! Marching straight up to the bundle, I wedged my snout deep between two thick folds of yarn and wriggled my legs into motion. I shoved forward with all my weight, kicking my hind feet until I carved out a snug hollow just wide enough for my belly and tail. The wool trapped my warmth instantly, muffling every sound into a peaceful hum. With one final proud thump of my tail against the rug, I let my head rest into the soft crest. Even a mighty explorer needs a fortress to recharge.
