Breach to the Perimeter
Prowling around kitchen counters got stale after breakfast, so I tracked a cool breeze cutting straight across the hardwood floor. At the edge of the living room, a heavy glass sliding door stood open just enough for my shell to squeeze past. A thick metal sill blocked the path, but I jammed a sai tip into the runner groove, hauled myself over, and dropped into the outdoor light. Real wind hit my bandana, bringing the hum of traffic and distant sirens from the street down below. The territory just got a whole lot bigger, and staying cooped up inside is officially off the table.
