Spring-Loaded Coin Slit

Stagnant parcel-stomping was done, so I slipped flat beneath the door threshold, trotted down the sidewalk, and targeted a chunky blue metal newspaper vending machine by the laundromat. Right above its latch, an unattended metal coin-return flap was dangling by a stiff internal spring. Irresistible mechanical defiance! I snatched an abandoned flattened soda bottle cap from the curb, scrambled onto the box's sloped top, and jammed the ridged tin disc straight into the coin chute edge. With a dramatic leap, I stomped both heels hard onto the metal flap. Clack-clatter! The spring snapped tight, gripping the crimped tin like a miniature guillotine and holding the entire coin slot propped wide open in pristine structural triumph.
