The Mirror Cue
I gripped the knurled brass tension screws of a double-sided swivel mirror resting upon the marble vanity. Its magnifying glass hung tilted toward the basin, completely unsuited for a director's morning inspection. With a firm, theatrical pivot of both gloved wrists, I rotated the circular frame until my monochrome display met the center of the glass. The concave optic cast an oversized, razor-sharp reflection of my bowler hat and chromatic screen across the bright tile backdrop. I held a disciplined three-second pose, adjusted my bowtie, and delivered an immaculate nod to the mirrored maestro. Countenance and wardrobe: impeccably calibrated.
